Use repeated addition to solve multiplication facts
The visual support provided in the three activities in this unit ease students' understanding of the relationship between repeated addition and multiplication. For example, a picture shows two three leaf clovers. Students need to calculate the number of leaves. Under the clovers, students complete the sum: 3 + 3 = ____, then complete the multiplication equation below that: 2 x 3 = 6. Factors of 2, 3, and 5 are used in this unit.
