Skip count in fives
The six pages in this unit provide plenty of practice for skip counting in 5s. The first two activities use labelled finger patterns to visually support students as they complete multiples of five number sequences from a given number. The next activity explicitly illustrates how skip counting in fives can be a quick way to find the total of a larger group. Activity three uses missing numbers on a hundreds board to emphasise the pattern made by multiples of five, then students complete some pattern questions. Skip counting by drawing rabbit hops on number lines is next, followed by a colouring activity to highlight multiples of five.
