Multiples of 100 make 1 000

Can your students confidently add multiples of 100 to make 1 000? In Activity 1, students are given bugs with numbers on their bodies. Students must provide two more addends (in the wings of the bugs) to make the bug total 1 000. In the next activity, students have to find number combinations on a table that equal 1 000. The final activity requires students to choose three numbers, (from a selection of five), that total 1 000.
