Old MacDonald Had a Farm
Oral language tasks that develop literacy skills
This delightful whole-class lesson provides the basis for a weeks worth of oral language activities; containing a session overview, a well-known rhyme, independent worksheets and an oral language activity. The teacher begins the lesson by retelling the rhyme 'Old MacDonald Had a Farm' to their classroom before working through a series of fun and interactive exercises. Activities for the students include creating a feltboard finger puppet play, a 'Count the syllables' game, a matching game and helping to write a new verse of the rhyme!
