Solve multiplication problems with arrays
Three pages of problems in this unit allow students plenty of opportunity to grasp the concept of using arrays to solve multiplication questions. The arrays provided in Activity 1 support students in answering how many blocks of chocolate will be eaten in each question. Activity two has word problems that students to re-write and solve as equations e.g. 5 rows of 5: 5 x 5 = ____. The final activity asks the students to calculate the number of trees in a forester's plantation.
