Harry had 5 bread rolls. He ate 1. How mnay bread rolls are left now? The first two worksheets in this unit consist of simple word problems and incomplete equations for students to solve. On the final worksheet a number line is provided in the first task to aid students as they solve equations. This is followed by a delightful exercise in which students draw a line to connect pairs of sweets that add up to 5 in a lolly jar, then on another piece of paper, write the addition and subtraction facts they have found.
