The two exercises in this unit reinforce adding and subtracting groupings with five and solving addition problems on materials. The first exercise gives an incomplete number line and fifteen addtiion equations. Stduents need to complete teh number line then use it to help them solve the equations. Following this there are four word problems involving the number 5. The third task requires students to count and cross out images in the given pictures to help them write the answer as a number sentence and equation. Finally, the unit concludes with 18 subtraction equations for students to complete.
