Different ways to find the area of a shape
This activity is a great way to revise different strategies for calculating the area of a shape. The example of a 3x5 grid provides examples of the strategies students might use. For example, 5 squares + 5 squares + 5 squares, 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3, 3 x 5 and 5 x 3. There are four questions in this activity.
