Explore strategies to solve division problems
Two different division-solving strategies are included in this unit. On the first worksheet students learn to solve division problems by changing them to problems that have the same answer (i.e.. proportional adjustment) e.g. 140 ~ 28 ? 70 ~14 ? 35 ~ 7 ? 5. The second worksheet reinforces students' ability to solve division problems using place value. The first task consists of 30 long division questions. Students may do these in the written form (long division) or use place value partitioning. Four division word problems conclude the unit. Answers to all questions are provided.
