Solve subtraction problems where common factors can be found
Using averaging and multiplication for adding whole numbers
For each of the problems in this unit, students need to find a common factor to make the equation easier to solve. For example, If the equation is 72 - 36 - 12, it could be simplified by working out the common factor in each of these numbers is 6, then using this number to create an easier equation i.e.. (12 - 6 - 2) x 6. Answers are provided.
