Recognise the fraction symbols of 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 and 1/5

This is a great unit for reinforcing students' ability to identify fraction symbols from 1/5 to 1/2. In the first task students need to match the fraction shown in a picture to its corresponding symbol and then draw their own pictures to show specified fractions. The second activity requires students to cut out the hot air balloon baskets labelled with fraction names and stick them below the balloon showing the corresponding region or symbol. The third task is a match and colour activity, while the final page askes students to draw their own pictures to illustrate each of the given fractions.
