Use more than one strategy to solve problems (Part A)
This is a great unit when easing your students into using a variety of strategies to solve maths problems. The first two tasks ask students to solve two word problems with hints about how they might work them out on the provided number lines. A second number line is provided for each task so students can show an alternative way of solving the problems. The next three pages are each headed with a number problem. Students need to show three different ways of finding the solution by showing their thinking in the three thought bubbles and/or on the number lines.
