Use place value to solve problems
The exercise in this unit reinforces the concept that to solve a problem it can be helpful to know that 10 ones make one 10 and that 10 tens make 100. A number of pictures are provided that have ones, tens and hundreds 'place value men'. Students need to work out the total number that has been represented by the place value men in each picture, then try to draw the same numbers using as few 'men' as possible.
