Solving problems by going up and over 10
The two pages in this unit contain sum activities to practice solving addition and subtraction problems by going over 10, or using groupings of ten as tidy numbers. For example, to solve 37 + 8, students can take 3 from the 8, add it to the 37 and then calculate 40 + 5. A couple of examples of both addition and subtraction processes are provided.
