Working with three
These illustrated activities gently scaffold working with multiples of three. In the first task students record the number of groups within each picture and write a corresponding repeated addition sum. From there, students group images in given pictures into groups of three, then move on to a variety of fill-the-gaps and dot-to-dot skip counting in threes exercises. The final activity requires students to record the number of groups based on a given visual and write a simple multiplication equation.
