Language features of poetry
In this e-unit are three pages of worksheets to assist developing students grasp on various poetry language features. In the first exercise students will learn about alliteration and tongue twisters by reading examples and writing some tongue twisters of their own! Students will then explore the purpose and power of metaphors in poetry, writing their own to conclude the exercise. In the last activity, students will look at onomatopoeia words and recall any more they can think of.
